• Chlorinated rubber resins have the best UV resistance, the best stain resistance, the best water resistance and chemical resistance of any other resins used in pool paint.

  • Rubber-base coatings are user-friendly.  Easy Application.  Doesn't take a professional painter.

  • Unlike epoxy, no need to grind down Rubber-base coating later if it rains while you are painting.    With Rubber-base, you just close your bucket and wait for surface to dry.

  • Fusion bonding allows each coat of rubber base to melt into the previous one, making rubber base paint more durable than the chalking epoxy alternative.

  • Rubber-base is less expensive than other coating types in the short and long run.

  • Rubber-base contains NO Lead.

  • Rubber-base contains NO Bisphenyl A which mimics the human hormone estradiol, negatively impacting health, brain function and reproduction.  See USA Today 4/14/05 for more on Bisphenyl A

  • Rubber-base minimizes waste production.  Left-over paint can be saved and used for years later.  Epoxy waste begins immediately after painting, and sometimes during painting if there is rain.

  • Rubber-based paint produces no air pollution particulates.  The required sanding of epoxy coating for re-painting does produce this air pollution.

  • As for water-base paints, Great for house paint!  But does it really make sense to use water-base paint in a tough chemical-laden underwater environment?

Know your facts!  Decide for yourself what you will believe...because using the right paint matters...one that is best for your pool and the environment!

IS Rubbber based Pool Paint Banned by Government VOC Regulations?

Rubber based pool paint IS NOT banned--not even in California.  Chlorinated rubber resins are NOT banned either!

Some pool paint manufacturers  would like you to think that rubber base pool paint is banned.

There are strict limits on ALL paint solvents for ALL types of paints--even epoxies and acrylics!  No paint manufacturer is allowed to sell paint which does not meet these limits.
